Is Davido’s Gift To Chioma A Publicity Stunt For “Assurance”?

 

It has been over 24 hours and the internet is still buzzing with three words, Assurance, Davido and Chioma. Everyone is praising Davido for being so romantic and also Chioma for doing whatever she has done to win Davido’s heart but after all the happy moments shared yesterday, it’s about time we see this from another angle, which, guess what? might just be the right angle.

So here is the question guys, is Davido truly in love with Chioma?

The answer to that question for us is “Yes” but the real answer to the question is known by Davido, but then whatever the feeling is, it has to be really powerful to make Davido bring out 45 Million naira, now that is some feeling he caught. But this action has stirred up some questions that made us say “You know what? This might just be the biggest PR move in Nigerian music and we are not seeing it.

Why?

So Davido said he has been dating Chioma for 5 years… Five big years! So how come we’re just knowing about her? Like really knowing… (Their choice!). This makes me wonder what the entertainment journalists are really doing… Most information like this is given to us and we hardly find out about any like the TMZs and Hollywood reporters… from Adesua and Banky to now this (I think I just shot myself in the foot! Well let’s all catch our sub and fall off the table) My point is, Davido revealed a girl to us when he wanted to reveal her making us feel it is a fresh love and it inspired the song, Assurance… hmmmm! Oga David Yo!

Another reason this whole thing is a stunt is the event that led to the release of the song. Chioma’s birthday was celebrated with a Porsche by Davido on the 30th of April and then he released Assurance on the 1st of May with some of his acts in the song relating to what he did on the 30th of May… so is it that Davido  acted all romantic, realized it made sense and hit the studio that night to get the song out the next day? That would’ve been the case but then we know the cover art for the song was already out, so all those theories of how it probably worked didn’t happen because, from the look of things, all these were strategically planned.

So far, it looks like Davido loves the attention the song is giving and for this attention to be as solid as it is, he went extra mile to bombard us with posts on Twitter, challenging men to “Assure” their ladies and not be scared to open their hearts for love, but this is coming five years later… hmmm! Guess we have to stick with our relationship and find love five years down the line, don’t you think?

But just to ask;

Where has Chioma been all these years?

Where has Chioma been celebrating her previous birthdays?

What gifts have been assuring Chioma for the past 4 birthdays celebrated while with Davido?

We hope to find answers to all these questions soon, but for now, I am going to stick with my theory of how smart Davido is by selling us the love narrative and hitting 500k views in 9 hours according to his post on Instagram.

So I guess if that is correct, it’ll be safe to say Chioma got her own share from the hit before it even sold, now if that is not love … you don’t understand? Davido believes so much in the power of his love that he gave Chioma 45Millions from it knowing the love and Assurance will bring more than that… O.B.O Baddest!!!

All these are my speculations and probably what truly happens or is happening but we wouldn’t know until Davido comes out to say it’s true. So two options, believe in my highly probable speculations or believe Davido has been bitten by the love bug and he’s madly in love with Chioma five years after their relationship which is also possible and the fact that she was featured in the song is a great move… well done Davido! Nice PR strategy!
