“I’m Not Making Any Profit From The Song…” Falz React To “This is Nigeria” Video

Nigerian singer and entertainer, FalztheBahdguy has revealed that his Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America’ cover, This is Nigeria that just hit a million views in less than two days of his released was not created to make any profit on YouTube, rather it was made because political issues like these have to be discussed and somebody has to do it.

This was revealed in an interview with Toolz on BeatFM where the singer stated that since the song is a cover of Childish Gambino’s This is America, the American artiste who already has over 200Million views for the original version has the right over the ‘This is Nigeria’ cover hence gets to profit from it.

The artiste also spoke about some of the negative comments he has been receiving on the issues he raised in the song but has that disturbed him? His response was “No” because he feels humans, especially Nigerians will always go away from the message to kill the messenger and that is not going to stop him as he will be releasing an EP soon “Moral Instruction” to further talk about some of these issues we have kept too quiet about.

Still on the issue, he urged other artistes to use the great platforms they have to address political issues also revealing that his father who had always advised him to use his voice for such issues was really glad when he saw This is Nigeria” video and so far, she’s pleased with the reaction the work is getting even though it’s painful he won’t be benefiting from it financially.
