#EndSARS: Osinbajo Orders Complete Overhaul Of SARS – Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has ordered the complete and immediate overhaul of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS). This recent development comes months after an offline and online campaign began on #ENDSARS as a result of accusations of several human rights abuse against the officers.
According to a statement from the media aide of the acting president, Laolu Akande:
“Following persistent complaints and reports on the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) that border on allegations of human rights violations, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, Acting-President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, has directed the Inspector General of Police to, with immediate effect, overhaul the management and activities of SARS,” .
